SMC Networks is a provider of networking solutions. Established in 1971, SMC is the retail arm of Accton Technology, a leading provider of OEM and ODM Ethernet technology. The company is headquartered in Irvin, California. It has regional offices located in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Japan, and offers its services through an extensive network of value added resellers (VARs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
SMC Networks manufactures hardware devices including network cards, switches, wireless routers, broadband routers, VDSL, network attached storage servers, and IP cameras. It also provides LAN equipments and connectivity services for small and medium enterprises, home and office users.
Products
Two key products families from SMC Networks are EZ Networking and Tiger.
EZ Networking
EZ Networking is designed for home and small offices. It consists of the EZ Connect (includes EZ Connect g Wireless USB adapter SMCWUSBT-G2, with Atheros Super G Ar5523 chipset), EZ Switch, Barricade (includes Barricade g wireless router SMCWBR14-G2). The EZ Connect features unmanaged, ease of use, SOHO and Wireless networks.
Tiger
Tiger is designed for corporate and workgroup environments. It consists of TigerSwitch, EliteConnect, TigerStack, TigerStore, and TigerAccess. The TigerStore line of products provides storage solution for both small to medium business and home environments. With its high-speed networked storage capabilities, TigerStore enables network users to easily access and share data files, music, pictures and videos. EliteConnect comprises enterprise-class wireless LAN solutions, with high speed and bandwidth enhanced wireless products.
SMC continues to add new products to its networking suite.
