Fantom Drive’s DataDock II quad interface dual drive RAID is a high-speed, portable RAID solution. It features two hot-swappable 3.5” SATA II removable hard drives, giving plenty of storage required for high-bandwidth applications. DataDock II provides four interfaces including eSATA, FireWire 400, 800 and USB 2.0 with data transfer rates up to 300MB/s using eSATA. The drive is ideal for audio/video editing, photo archiving or common storage of data.
RAID levels 0, 1, and Spanning provide the flexibility to choose redundancy or performance depending on users’ needs. While RAID 1 offers 100 percent data redundancy and automatic data rebuilding in case of drive failure, RAID 0 provides maximum performance for tasks including video editing. DataDock II employing RAID 1 simultaneously writes the data to two independent hard drives, giving immediate backup as soon as the data is saved. This means that in the event of a drive failure, the users still have the data available, while they send the removable failed drive for repair.
Fantom Drives also features a DataDock II hot-swappable spare drive module to further enhance security. It comes with Oxford Semiconductor’s OXUF960DSB chip to deliver best-in-class performance across all interfaces. The disk is compatible with Time Machine and comes with NTI Shadow 4 with Ninja for PC and Mac. Packed in a durable aluminum enclosure with a low noise DC fan, this unit is quiet and cool.
