Sonnet’s Fusion DX800RAID is an expandable 8-drive SATA storage system. It is specially designed for storage applications such as working with high-density (HD) data where performance and fault tolerance are critical, and expandability is a must. These systems are fast enough to easily handle uncompressed HD while simultaneously ensuring data protection.
With RAID 5 configuration, the disk allows for 85 percent of memory (eight 1.5TB drives striped with parity across all group members). Other RAID configurations supported include RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 4, RAID 6, or DVRAID. While RAID 0 offers flawless speed, RAID 1 allows for ultimate redundancy. RAID 4, RAID 6, or DVRAID offer enhanced protection in the event of a drive failure. The system also supports JBOD.
Fusion DX800RAID systems are provided with hot spares. In case a drive fails, the hot spare replaces the failed drive without causing interruption to the workflow. The system allows all this flexibility without switches. It uses a simple to use configuration utility that enables the user to optimize the setup for specific workflow requirements.
Fusion DX800RAID system is capable of single-stream 2K (2048 x 1556) LOG RGB capture and playback. A Fusion DX800RAID system can achieve up to 815MB/sec read, 715MB/sec. Fusion DX800RAID is available in different capacities: 4TB, 6TB, 8TB, or 12TB. Further Sonnet DX800RAID can be expanded using Fusion DX800RAID storage expansion systems.
To enhance the performance of the Fusion DX800RAID storage system, the system is provided with the Sonnet PCI Express RAID controller which can handle the throughput from all the drives with plenty of overhead. The Sonnet RAID controller is configured with 256MB of ECC-protected RAM, to maintain data stream writes as the disk array nears capacity.
