Fusion F3 is a 2-drive RAID storage system that offers high throughput performance and storage demanded by today’s audio and video storage applications. Featuring a quad interface and an integrated universal power supply, Fusion F3 provides greater flexibility required in various applications environments.
Fusion F3 consists of two 3.5″ SATA RAID drives in an aluminum and steel case that fits well in recording studios, high-end A/V racks, and desktop or portable video editing systems.
Another important feature of Fusion F3 is the high performance built-in RAID controller that controls its two drives and enables single cable to host connection. The system supports various RAID configurations: RAID 0 for increased speed, RAID 1 for data protection, as well as JBOD configurations. RAID mode configuration is OS independent, so Fusion F3 can be connected directly to an audio editing/mixing interface via FireWire interface without requiring a computer to link the storage system and device.
The four interfaces provided with Fusion F3 are eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 or USB 2.0. While the eSATA provides the maximum speed, the FireWire 800 offers medium speed. FireWire 400 or USB 2.0 offers the flexibility required for different types of applications.
Fusion F3 can sustain transfer rates of up to 200 MB/sec under RAID 0 and the system connected via eSATA controller like Sonnet’s Tempo SATA E4P, Tempo SATA X4P, or Tempo SATA Pro ExpressCard/34. As a RAID 1 set and the system connected via eSATA, Fusion F3 can sustain read/write transfer rates of up to 105 MB/sec, while protecting the data by mirroring the data on both drives.
